Thoughts of a new starter

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

The first day of my second week was the first time that I met a hotel and saw a presentation from them about what they do! Principal Hayley and Four Pillars Hotels both came in today which gave me an insight into what they offer.

Their hotels are located all over the country and have something to suit all people’s tastes and budgets as well as having facilities to cater for different sized events; they really have something for everyone!…

Marvellous Macdonald Hotels by Natasha Hills

Friday, August 16, 2013

After a bit of a rushed journey from the office to the Macdonald Berystede we had a nice refreshing glass of pimms and some amazing canapés consisting of some indulgent mini burgers, interesting chilli popcorn and delightful asparagus wrapped in Parma ham waiting for us on the terrace, along with the lovely Mathew Turvey and Melissa Moore. The hotel looks very historical from the outside with a horse led theme inside due to being so close to the famous Ascot racecourse. The function rooms are beautiful and have some great …

A Classic Country Stay at Bartley Lodge by Tara Anderson

Monday, July 1, 2013

After a long day in the office my colleague and I from Brief2Event and Square Events arrived at Bartley Lodge Hotel. We were greeted by a long, sweeping driveway that perfectly set up the country manor feel of the building itself our check-in was very fast, we were both delighted with the room we were staying in, very clean, modern but still within keeping with the country manor feel.

Shortly afterwards we met the lovely Nicki Smith for a drinks reception and a show round. The Baronial Hall is an …

‘MAC’nificent Charity Event – by Natasha Hills

Monday, June 24, 2013

The ‘MAC’nificent charity weekend organisers (Russ and Denise) attended the Square Events familiarisation trip at Hellidon Lakes Golf and Spa Hotel. They loved the venue and thought it would be ideal for the charity weekend that they are organising, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd September 2013.

Russ and Craig (brothers in law) take part in the annual Macmillan 4×4 challenge, referred to as the ‘Mac’, partly because they enjoy it so much, but more importantly, because they raise money in aid of …

The New Forest, what an experience. By Natasha Hills

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

The New Forest has so much to offer, a wide variety of hotels, restaurants and cafés. We had an amazing opportunity to experience some of the many different things that can be done in the New Forest, from relaxing in the hotel bar to being on an exhilarating RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) ride.

The New Forest is an ideal location for a Masonic Ladies’ festival, although there are a few hotels in the area that are unsuitable due to size and/or price, they are all set in beautiful surroundings and

In at the deep end. My first week with Square Events – By Natasha Hills

Thursday, May 9, 2013

What a week! My first week working for Square Events and Perfect Weekend, my first Masonic Lodge Ladies Weekend experience, my first site visit to a hotel, well I suppose there is a first time for everything.

My name is Natasha, I joined the lovely team at Square Events Management just last week and I was thrown straight in at the deep end, as by Friday I was out on the road to meet Guy Mason (Director of Square Events) for a site visit at The Woodland Grange …

Some tips for organising the perfect Ladies Weekend/Festival

  • Get involved – After all the event is to thank the Ladies and you are the partner of the Worshipful Master.
  • Where do you want the Ladies Weekend to be?
  • Which hotel do you prefer?
  • What entertainment would you like for the event?
  • Which menu would you rather choose?

Responsibilities ahead of the event:

Choosing a venue – Obviously the most important decision as the success of the event will largely be measured on the numbers attending and people will not go …

Dinner at Lainston House by Tara Anderson

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

What a lovely evening that was hosted for Brief2Event and Square Events Management by the 5 Star, Exclusive Hotel Lainston House. Lainston House is a 17th century country house standing in 63 acres of beautiful Hampshire countryside. Perhaps the most spectacular view is from the hotel bar as the lawn stretches pristinely into the distance along a tree lined avenue.

Onsite they have a wonderful kitchen garden where they grow and use all their own fresh ingredients, the different aroma’s you get walking through is just out of this …

Spending time in the garden (of England)

Thursday, November 10, 2011

Following on from Square Events busiest ever month for Masonic Ladies Festivals I thought it was time for a mini-break to relax and recharge the batteries. Always on the lookout for suitable hotels for Lodge Ladies Weekends I had decided to visit the QHotels properties Bridgewood Manor and Ashford International.

Due to crazy parking prices in Brighton Lodges looking for suitable Masonic Ladies Weekend venues have started to look elsewhere in the South East and with Kent being the ‘Garden of England’, with great shopping and plenty of history …
