Well I certainly clocked up some miles over last weekend but I had a thoroughly great time, some extremely happy Lodges and I also won some money.

Friday morning I journeyed Bournemouth to Chester to visit the Ramada Hotel there to meet with the Lodge we had in the hotel to run through the final points regarding their Ladies Festival. The President and his Lady were delightful and we spent a lovely hour familiarising them with the hotel facilities and running through the details of their Ladies Weekend.

From there I got back onto the M6 and headed to the Marriott St. Pierre in Chepstow. The hotel is beautiful and ideal for a Masonic Lodge Ladies Weekend. With golf and a spa onsite there is plenty to do and the food is magnificent. I can heartily recommend it!

Saturday was spent as guests of the Barcelo Cheltenham Park and their agent’s day (which was wonderful as we had a Lodge in the very same hotel enjoying their Ladies Weekend). On arrival at the beautiful four star hotel we had a 2nd breakfast before being whisked off to Cheltenham Races for a corporate hospitality day. Not being much of an authority on horse racing I studied the Racing Post and under their tutelage chose a horse or two for each race. You can imagine my surprise and delight when I won in six out of the seven races. I don’t think I’ll be becoming a seasoned gambler but as an occasional outing the races are a lot of fun.

The Cheltenham Park Hotel rounded of the day with a sumptuous four course banquet and a casino where unfortunately my lucky streak came to an end. The Lodge weekend seemed to be going with a swing and both the President and Festival secretary gave rave reviews on the food, the staff, the entertainment and the weekend in general.

I would have no problems in recommending any of the three hotels I visited for a Masonic Ladies Weekend or Ladies Night. If you would be interested in finding out more about these venues or further ideas for any of your Masonic events please do not hesitate to contact me on 01202 400855 or email on [email protected]
